The good news
of jesus
Paul decided to know nothing except “Jesus Christ and Him crucified.” The role of an Evangelist is both to empower God’s people to preach and win the lost, and to teach us to live the Gospel making us the envy of all. The Gospel is what sets us apart.
As I spent time with God I began to be aware of a spiritual air of condemnation and accusation from the enemy around me. As I continued to worship the Lord I felt God impress on me, “A blood washed Australia.” I could see a deep wall of blood washing over the dry, thirsty ground. And as my awareness of the Good News grew I could feel the atmosphere around me shift from darkness to light. I knew immediately what the Lord was showing me. It was a call for the church at large to know the Gospel by experience so that we could fulfil the Great Commission.
Salvation positions us to deliver the experience of the Gospel to all who are around us. It is of the demonstration of the Spirit and of power so that their faith rests solely in the power of God and not in the wisdom of man. Yet the revelation of the power of the Gospel has often stopped in our minds, assaulted by condemnation and accusation, thus rarely is it felt in the heart to transform our lives – let alone those around us. It is time for the truth of the Good News to take centre stage for the sake of the World. We are to be blood washed and baptised in the Spirit.
